The Red Sox started the season off on the right foot by sweeping the Phillies today at Latshaw McCarthy Field. The Sox came from behind in the first game to win 6 to 3. Starting pitcher Eric Guise made a successful return from shoulder surgery, and newcomer Joe Malloy provided solid relief.
In the second game, the Sox fought off a Phillies rally to win 11 to 8. The highlight of the game was Bryan Whithrow's straight steal of home.
The Red Sox (2-0) play at
Latshaw McCarthy next week against the Colt .45's (0-2).
